Mise-en-scene Stranger Things analysis

     Drama, Fantasy and Horror
3) Choose THREE aspects of mise-en-scene (e.g. costume, lighting, setting) and write a short paragraph for each about the denotation and connotation in the opening 8 minutes of Stranger Things. What is being communicated to the audience? How does the mise-en-scene help to communicate the genre of Stranger Things? 
The video showed different places of were the action was happening like the house, the street and other places. The  scenes were the video clips are recorded are made too look dark, dull and gloomy which suggests a sinister setting.

The vehicles used in the film were used to create drama, intense and panic moments when the kids and being chased by the men in vans and they luckily get away causing the vans to collide and crash. The setting was placed in the house with the kids friends and his parents.
 
At the beginning of the video there is a man who was running through a building swiftly in panic and shock. At that moment, the lights were turning on and off rapidly which intensifies action, builds up drama and a shows a state of emergency.
