 Denotation
The Nike mercurial boots are designed in orange and black. The orange is the bright colour to make       it stand out from the black. Also on the grass there is an explosion coming from under the boot. At          the bottom left corner there is a Nike tick with and next to it says Mercurial the new Vapor 8.                  Furthermore, it says explosive speed in striking bold and capital letters.

 Connotation
The Nike mercurial boots are constructed mainly for Football players this may be because many       people play Football in England and it is the most popular sport in the U.K. They put 2 different       colours on the boots so that the orange can be standing out from the black. Under the boot, there     shows to be like an explosion or mark on the pitch, they may have did this to exaggerate the speed of the player wearing the boots like they will be gliding past the defenders effortlessly. At the bottom      left of the advert there is a Nike logo and says Mercurial The New Vapor 8 they may have done this to promote their brand to the consumers and make more people interested in Nike. They may have  made the font bald and capital letters so it is clear on the advert and the consumers don't just look at it quickly and forget about it.

 Analysis
The colour palette is vibrant because the orange is bright and the dark mixes it to become eye-catchin    -g for consumers. The producers which are Nike deliberately made it these colours to appeal to Footb    -allers which could be any genders and whatever age.
